Github is becoming a central piece of the OceanGliders data management strategy. This is both a forum where the issues are discussed collectively and a controler version tool to manage collective projects, like documents and software. In this workshop, you will be introduced to the basic use of Github in the context of OceanGliders community repository.

The objective of this workshop is to introduce the glider operators, principal investigators and data managers to the importance of harmonized metadata and the concept of controlled vocabularies. The existing resources to handle this critical topic will be presented and training will be organized during the workshop.
